Role Overview: Procurement Officer Jobs in Lusaka
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing supplier relationships and ensuring the timely procurement of quality automotive parts and services. You will be responsible for sourcing and evaluating local suppliers, managing purchase orders, and supporting both local and international procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and manage local suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Obtain, compare, and analyse supplier quotations to support procurement decisions.
- Prepare and issue accurate purchase orders in a timely manner.
- Follow up on outstanding orders and expedite deliveries to meet operational needs.
- Resolve discrepancies related to delivery, quantity, quality, and invoices efficiently.
- Prepare and submit Goods Received Notes (GRNs) while maintaining accurate procurement records.
- Monitor supplier pricing and compliance documentation to ensure adherence to company policies.
- Prioritise workshop-critical orders to guarantee timely delivery and minimise downtime.
- Support international and OEM orders, including shipment tracking and customs clearing processes.
- Assist with international consignment inspections and supplier claims management.
- Contribute to supplier performance reporting and facilitate inter-branch parts transfers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Full Grade 12 Certificate is mandatory.
- Degree or Diploma in Purchasing & Supply, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related fields.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant procurement or buying experience.
- Familiarity with EVOLVE or similar Dealer Management Systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and knowledgeable about PO, GRN, and goods-in processes.
- Automotive parts procurement experience is an advantage.
- Valid Driver’s Licence is required.
