PRODUCT SPECIALIST – CRUSHING SOLUTIONS – CENTRAL AFRICA

We are looking for a Product Specialist – Crushing Solutions for our Territory in Central Africa

Purpose of the role:

The role will report into the report into the Service Manager – Central Africa

Responsible for working closely with the Central Africa sales & service teams to promote crushing products and champion the driving of the crushing solutions equipment and aftermarket parts and support sales whilst providing product support and technical assistance & services to our customers for our crushing installed base across Central Africa

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer training and efficient technical services support pertaining to all crushing products supplied to customers within Central Africa
• Work closely with the customers’ installation and erection teams on activities during installation and commissioning of any Sandvik crushing equipment when required.
• Guide and assist customers’ maintenance teams with fault diagnosis work on crushing equipment.
• Work with customers’ maintenance teams perform repair and fault finding using hydraulic, electric and instrumentation schematics.
• Cooperate closely with the sales team or directly with the customer to promote Crushing Solutions equipment and aftermarket sales.
• Provide relevant feedback through equipment condition, performance and process audits, to enable maintenance planning improvements in terms of efficiency and equipment integrity.
• Identifies current and future/potential customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with them and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
• Provides product service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
• Identify and work with customers on optimization projects and initiatives and identify brownfield replacement/upgrade opportunities
• Drive and implement “Connected” equipment programs and promote digital solutions and benefits to customers
• Identify remote monitoring opportunities predominantly with key customers in Central Africa
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Works towards achieving set KPI’s, for both the Customers and Sandvik.
• Ensure all work assigned to the team, related to Crushing Solutions, is carried out in accordance to set budgets and timeframes.
• Providing relevant information for the Crushing installed base in Central Africa to the Region/Global teams and to ensure accurate installed base information is maintained in the database.
• Accept and perform tasks delegated by Management as deemed necessary.
• Ensure all Sandvik policies and procedures especially the health, safety and environmental policies are adhered to by the team.
• Stay up to date with new and upgrades of crushing equipment

Qualification and Competency Requirements

• Mechanical or Electrical Engineer or Electrical trade or good trade relevant background with relevant equipment technical experience.
• Have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role in the Mining Industry with Crushing & Screening experience.
• Need to be competent in electronics and instrumentation.
• Acquired knowledge in Crushing and Screening operations in both surface and underground.
• Proven understanding of crushing & screening plants & process flow
• Knowledge of Sandvik equipment including ASRi/ACS systems will be an added advantage
• Strong business sense and EHS focus.
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and people management skills are essential.
• Proficiency in the use of spreadsheets and other MS office applications
• Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary and provide guidance to members of the team.
• Must be self-motivated, performance-based outcomes orientated and needs no supervision.
• English – fluent – spoken & written
• Have a valid passport, and willing and able to travel frequently, without restrictions, within Africa at relatively short notice, and also as per customers’ or Sandvik’s requests/requirements.
• There might be a need to assist other territories within Africa.
