Job Summary

Lwitikila Bottling Company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production and Maintenance Superintendent. This dual-function leadership role is responsible for overseeing the entire production lifecycle while ensuring that all mechanical and electrical systems are maintained to the highest standards. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, minimize downtime, and ensure the delivery of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Management:

  • Oversee daily bottling operations to meet production targets and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure maximum yield and minimal wastage.
  • Enforce strict adherence to quality control and food safety standards.

2. Maintenance & Engineering:

  • Develop and implement a robust Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule for all bottling lines and utility equipment.
  • Lead rapid troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic system failures.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with external technical vendors.

3. Leadership & Safety:

  • Supervise, train, and mentor the production and maintenance teams.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
  • Manage departmental budgets and provide regular reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Degree or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Production Engineering.

Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role (FMCG or Beverage industry preferred).

Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of bottling machinery, PLC systems, and water treatment processes.

Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of health and safety standards and food quality management systems.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
