About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to lead our brewing and packaging operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production processes, people, plant, systems, and resources to ensure the delivery of high-quality products in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Operations

  • Develop and implement production plans based on demand forecasts.
  • Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining quality and efficiency standards.
  • Coordinate scheduled maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Monitor brewing and packaging processes to ensure compliance with approved procedures and formulations.

Raw Material & Inventory Management

  • Manage procurement of brewing and packaging raw materials from approved suppliers.
  • Monitor stock levels and usage to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Ensure incoming materials meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Conduct routine stock reconciliations and investigate variances.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and plant cleanliness.
  • Drive compliance with HACCP, ISO, and other operational quality systems.
  • Ensure adherence to Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) policies and procedures.
  • Promote a safe working environment through regular inspections and corrective actions.

Performance & Cost Management

  • Prepare and manage production and operational budgets.
  • Control fixed and variable costs within approved budget levels.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, production efficiencies, and material losses.
  • Lead problem-solving initiatives and continuous improvement projects.

Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop Brewing and Packaging Team Leaders.
  • Implement performance management processes, including KPI reviews and regular feedback sessions.
  • Support employee development through training, succession planning, and capability building.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work environment.

Reporting

  • Prepare and present daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly production reports.
  • Analyze production data and recommend improvements to optimize performance and resource utilization.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a traditional beer manufacturing environment.
  • Strong budgeting, planning, and cost-control experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Added Advantage

  • Certificate in Opaque Beer Brewing.
