Background

North Western Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited (NWWSSCL) is a commercial utility, providing water and sanitation services in the North – Western Province. The Company has a vision of “striving for excellence in water supply and sanitation”. It is value driven and performance oriented and since inception in the year 2000 has been among the top performing utilities. NWWSSCL is an equal opportunity employer and seeks to recruit high profile, self-motivated, innovative, honest, committed, adequately qualified and appropriately experienced persons to fill the following vacant position in a challenging environment. The Company operates in eight (8) Districts.

The position requires a dynamic, self-motivated person with proven Public Relations experience and the ability to work with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Develop PR campaigns and media relations strategies;
  • Efficiently producing and effectively disseminating approved publicity materials (brochures, videos, social media posts etc.), developing good relationship with customers, stakeholders and the media;
  • Prepare and distribute press releases;
  • Formulation of Public Relations policies and procedures;
  • Organize PR events (e.g. open days, press conferences) prepare and distribute press releases;
  • Management of customer relationship activities to ensure attainment of customer satisfaction;
  • Seek opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising;
  • Address inquiries from the media, track media coverage and follow industry trends.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full Grade twelve (12) School Certificate with at least five (5) ‘O’ level credits including English language and Mathematics;
  • Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Mass Communications or a related field;
  • Diploma in Public administration will be an added advantage;
  • Computer literate – fully conversant with Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet;
  • At least 3 years working experience in a similar position;
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), proactive and innovative, able to plan events, good organizational skills with assertive attitude;
  • Experience managing media relations (online, broadcast and print);
  • Member of the Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication.
