Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Purchasing Supervisor to oversee procurement activities and ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services required for business operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising purchasing processes, managing supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and driving cost-effective purchasing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily purchasing operations and ensure timely procurement of goods and services.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best value for the organization.
  • Review purchase requisitions and approve purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate tendering and supplier evaluation processes where applicable.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare purchasing reports.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand procurement requirements and forecast purchasing needs.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement procurement best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement procedures, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise and support procurement team members to achieve departmental objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing and Supply, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional procurement qualification (CIPS or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in procurement or purchasing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
  • Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, infrastructure, or related industries is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems such as SAP or similar procurement systems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
