Position Summary:

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all work, materials, and installations on the mining site meet the required engineering, project, and safety standards. This role involves meticulous inspection, documentation, and reporting to maintain the integrity and quality of mining operations and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections of materials, workmanship, and installations against project specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform visual and dimensional checks, and review documentation for compliance.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, including non-conformance reports (NCRs) when standards are not met.
  • Monitor and verify corrective actions for identified defects.
  • Liaise with project supervisors, engineers, and contractors to resolve quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant mining codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate quality control records and documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector.
  • Experience in mining or heavy industrial environments is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and inspection methodologies.
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

General Requirements:

  • Strong safety awareness.
  • Ability to work independently and make objective decisions.
  • Must be based in Solwezi or willing to relocate immediately.
