The Zambia Statistics Agency (ZamStats) was established under the Statistics Act, Chapter 127 of the Laws of Zambia, for the coordination of an integrated National Statistical System (NSS) to build a sustainable capacity for the production and use of statistical data and information for planning purposes at all levels of governance.
ZamStats has embarked on a transformative agenda which responds to the current trends in the statistical eco-system. Receptionist
Salary Grade: ZSA08/F
Positions: 1
A. Job Purpose
To provide efficient front office, reception, and administrative support services by welcoming visitors, handling telephone and email communications, and ensuring the smooth flow of information within the institution.
The Receptionist is responsible for maintaining a professional image of the Agency while providing general administrative and front desk support services.
B. Key Responsibilities
Front Office and Customer Service
- Receive and welcome visitors, clients, and stakeholders in a courteous and professional manner.
- Provide basic information about the institution’s services and procedures.
- Maintain a positive and professional front office environment to enhance the Agency’s image.
- Ensure confidentiality of official information and documents.
Visitor and Security Management
- Maintain the visitors’ register and issue visitor passes where applicable.
- Prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas.
- Support emergency readiness and duty of care procedures.
Administrative Support
- Handle telephone calls, emails, and general enquiries.
- Ensure proper flow of communication within the office.
- Perform general administrative and clerical duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Undertake any other duties assigned from time to time.
C. Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent with five (5) O-Level passes, including English.
- Diploma in Front Office Operations, Public Relations, Secretarial Studies, Office Administration, Public Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Relevant work experience will be an added advantage.
D. Desired Knowledge
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office applications)
- Office procedures and administrative systems
- Basic customer service principles
- Front desk and reception management practices

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
