  • Compliance and Auditing: Lead annual HSSE audits, establish vehicle inspection standards for bulk fuel tankers, and monitor regulatory compliance across operating countries.
  • Incident Investigation and Analytics: Support investigations of serious incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and track HSSE KPIs to promote continuous risk reduction.
  • Capability Development: Define mandatory HSSE training programs and organize regional supplier HSSE conferences to strengthen safety culture and supplier alignment.
  • Contract and Commercial Governance: Integrate HSSE KPIs and performance standards into contracts and implement consequence management frameworks to ensure accountability.
  • Reporting and Stakeholder Engagement: Consolidate and report HSSE performance data monthly and provide strategic insights to leadership for informed decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Economics, or Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical). Postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA or MSc in Supply Chain Risk or International Logistics are highly desirable.
  • Certifications: Certification as a Lead Auditor or Implementer in Road Transport Safety Management Systems (ISO 39001). Dangerous Goods / ADR certification is an advantage.
  • Professional Experience: 10–12 years in supply chain, logistics, or HSSE operations, including at least 6 years in downstream hydrocarbon logistics and bulk fuel storage terminals.
  • Management Experience: Minimum 5 years managing third-party logistics providers and contractors across multiple African countries, with proven ability to embed HSSE requirements into commercial contracts and supplier frameworks.

Core Competencies
