About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, and driving a strong safety culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement, monitor, and maintain occupational health and safety programs.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Facilitate safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
  • Maintain safety records, permits, and documentation.
  • Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and participate in safety audits and inspections.
  • Promote continuous improvement in workplace safety standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
  • Relevant Safety Officer certification/qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a health and safety role.
  • Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Strong investigation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
