Position Summary

Dama Ventures Limited is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Safety Officer to oversee, implement, and monitor safety policies across our transport and logistics operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a strong safety culture within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and enforce company safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and transport regulations
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits
  • Monitor driver behavior, vehicle safety standards, and road safety compliance
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare detailed reports
  • Conduct safety training and toolbox talks for drivers and staff
  • Maintain accurate safety records and documentation
  • Advise management on safety improvements and corrective actions
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and external safety auditors as required

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in transport, logistics, or fleet operations
  • Professional safety certification (e.g., IOSH, or equivalent) is an added advantage
  • Strong knowledge of transport safety regulations and occupational health standards
  • Excellent reporting, communication, and training skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple safety tasks
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail
