JV Chantete is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Safety Officer.

Available Position

Safety Officer

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
• Full Grade 12 School Certificate with five O’ Levels including English and Mathematics
• Valid Silicosis Certificate
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the mining industry

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement site-specific health and safety policies
• Conduct risk assessments and site inspections
• Deliver safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks
• Monitor PPE usage and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Investigate incidents and prepare corrective action reports
• Maintain safety records and inspection logs
• Coordinate emergency response drills
• Liaise with regulatory bodies during audits and inspections
• Promote a strong safety culture in the workplace
