Position: Safety Officer

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Safety Officer to oversee occupational health and safety compliance at our mining operations. The successful candidate will ensure adherence to mining safety regulations, promote a zero-harm culture, and proactively manage operational risks in a high-hazard environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor mine health and safety management systems
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and safety audits underground
• Ensure compliance with mining regulations and company safety standards
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
• Deliver safety inductions and continuous training for the workers
• Monitor use of PPE and safe operating procedures
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and management on safety matters

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree or a related qualification in Occupational Health & Safety
• Minimum of 2 years’ safety experience in the related field
• Strong knowledge of mine safety regulations and emergency response procedures
• Excellent leadership, communication, and report-writing skills
• First Aid certification
• Valid silicosis certificate with at least 5 months

• Ensure compliance with tax laws, royalties, and mining financial regulations
• Conduct variance analysis and support cost-reduction initiatives
• Coordinate internal and external audits
• Maintain accurate financial records for mine operations

• Excellent leadership, communication, and report-writing skills
• Strong knowledge of mine safety regulations and emergency response procedures
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting and financial controls
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel
• High attention to detail and integrity

• Diploma/Degree or a related qualification in Occupational Health & Safety
• Bachelor’s Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• First Aid certification
• Valid silicosis certificate with at least 5 months
