Background

Summit Printers Limited is looking for a qualified and experienced Sales Executive to join our fast growing Printing Company in Lusaka.

Job Purpose:

The Sales Executive is responsible for generating new business, growing existing customer accounts and achieving agreed sales and revenue targets for Summit Printers Limited.

The role requires an energetic and commercially minded individual who can actively identify potential customers, understand their printing and branding requirements, prepare quotations, close sales and maintain strong customer relationships.

The Sales Executive will be expected to actively promote Summit Printers' full range of services, including large-format printing, billboard printing, banners, offset printing, vehicle and shop branding, customised corporate clothing and other printing and branding solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Business Development & New Sales: Identify and target new customers across corporate, SME, retail, advertising, media, construction, hospitality, events, NGOs and other relevant sectors. Proactively generate new sales leads through cold calling, direct visits, referrals, networking and digital channels. Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers. Arrange meetings with prospective clients and present Summit Printers' products and services. Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate printing and branding solutions. Prepare and submit quotations and proposals promptly. Follow up on quotations and convert opportunities into confirmed orders. Negotiate commercially appropriate pricing within approved company guidelines. Identify opportunities to increase the value of each customer through cross-selling and upselling.
  • Existing Customer Management: Maintain regular contact with existing customers to encourage repeat business. Develop strong relationships with key customers and become their primary point of contact. Identify upcoming projects and printing requirements before they are placed with competitors. Monitor customer satisfaction and resolve sales-related issues promptly. Maintain accurate records of customer information, quotations, orders and follow-ups. Work towards increasing customer retention and average customer spend.
  • Sales Target Management: Achieve monthly and annual sales targets set by management. Maintain a healthy sales pipeline sufficient to support monthly revenue objectives. Track individual performance against targets. Provide regular updates on sales performance, prospects, quotations and expected orders. Take corrective action when sales performance is below target. Prioritise high-value and high-potential customers and opportunities.
  • Product & Industry Knowledge: Develop a strong understanding of Summit Printers' products, services, capabilities and production processes. Understand printing specifications, materials, finishing options and approximate production lead times. Stay informed about competitors, market pricing and customer trends. Clearly communicate product capabilities and limitations to customers. Work closely with production to ensure customer requirements can be delivered before committing to specifications or deadlines.
  • Quotation & Order Management: Obtain all required customer specifications before preparing quotations. Ensure quotations are accurate and commercially viable. Follow up outstanding quotations. Ensure confirmed orders contain complete and accurate specifications. Coordinate with production and operations to ensure orders are correctly understood. Keep customers informed of relevant production and delivery timelines. Escalate potential delays, quality concerns or customer complaints to management.
  • Collections & Credit Customers: Follow up customers regarding outstanding payments where required. Ensure customers operating on approved credit terms comply with agreed payment terms. Not commit the company to unauthorised credit, discounts or payment arrangements. Work with the accounts department to resolve customer account issues. Assist management in reducing overdue customer balances.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 / Secondary School Certificate minimum.
  • Diploma or degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce or a related field is an advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in sales or business development.
  • Experience in the printing, advertising, branding, media or related industry is highly advantageous.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Experience dealing with corporate and SME customers is preferred.
  • Valid driver's licence is an advantage.
