About the Role

Our client is a leading supplier of bakery ingredients, serving bakeries, food manufacturers, and related businesses across Zambia. They are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Sales Representative to drive sales growth, strengthen customer relationships, and expand the company's market presence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing customer accounts, and promoting the company's bakery ingredient portfolio to achieve sales targets and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the bakery and food manufacturing sectors.
  • Promote and sell bakery ingredients to existing and prospective customers.
  • Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Prepare and deliver quotations, proposals, and product presentations to customers.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to grow market share and increase revenue.

2. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with bakery owners, production managers, procurement officers, and other key decision-makers.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to understand customer needs and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.

3. Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments.
  • Gather and share customer feedback to support business growth and product development.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and market updates for management.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities.

4. Product Knowledge & Support

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company's bakery ingredient portfolio and applications.
  • Provide customers with technical product information and recommendations where required.
  • Stay updated on new products, industry developments, and bakery market trends.
  • Support product launches and promotional activities.

Desired Skills and Experience

Education

  • Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' proven sales experience in bakery ingredients.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of the bakery industry and customer requirements.
  • Experience managing customer accounts and developing long-term business relationships.

Other Requirements

  • Valid driver's licence held for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Clean driving record with no endorsements.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to customer locations as required.
