Overview

Our client, a leading developer of energy projects, who is dedicated to transforming the energy landscape of sub-Saharan Africa is looking for a Salesperson responsible for driving sales of fuel products.

Role Overview

The Fuel Salesperson will be responsible for driving sales of fuel products to commercial farmers, agribusinesses, and private sector clients across Zambia. This role requires a dynamic, results-oriented individual with strong business development skills, deep knowledge of the Zambian agricultural and industrial landscape, and the ability to build lasting client relationships. The Salesperson will play a key role in expanding market share, ensuring customer satisfaction, and achieving revenue targets through strategic sales initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, prospect, and secure new fuel sales opportunities with commercial farmers, agribusinesses, transport companies, and private sector clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the fuel sector.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery schedules to maximize profitability while meeting client requirements.
  • Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to ensure timely and efficient fuel deliveries.
  • Provide technical and product knowledge support to clients, advising on fuel usage, storage, and efficiency practices.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and reports to management and clients.
  • Monitor sales performance against targets and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements in all sales activities.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, agricultural expos, and industry networking events.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Agriculture, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in sales, preferably in energy, or agricultural products.
  • Strong knowledge of Zambia’s agricultural sector and private industry operations.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and CRM systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively across Zambia.
