Background
The Jerome Fleischer School for Orphans is a non-profit institution committed to providing quality education and Biblical values to vulnerable children. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Teach Chemistry and Physics at secondary school level in accordance with the approved curriculum.
- Teach Mathematics where required and appropriate.
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, assessments, and teaching materials.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
- Maintain accurate academic records and student reports.
- Support the school's mission, values, and child safeguarding policies.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, parents, and school administration to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development activities, and school events.
Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Education with a specialization in Science, preferably Chemistry and Physics.
- Registered with the Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ) and in possession of a valid practicing certificate.
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience at secondary school level.
- Strong knowledge of the Zambian secondary school curriculum.
- Ability to teach Chemistry and Physics effectively; Mathematics teaching experience will be an added advantage.
- Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is an added advantage.
- Commitment to Christian values and the holistic development of learners.
