Role Overview:
The Senior Finance Officer will be responsible for overseeing the financial management and reporting functions of Eastern Tropical Fruits Limited (ETF). The role ensures effective financial planning, accurate reporting, compliance with statutory and corporate requirements, and prudent management of financial resources. The Senior Finance Officer will work closely with operational teams to support informed decision-making and enhance financial performance.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Oversee financial reporting, including preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Monitor and control costs, ensuring efficient use of financial resources.
- Manage accounts payable, receivables, and general ledger functions.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.
- Ensure timely tax compliance and statutory submissions.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls and financial systems.
- Provide financial analysis and advisory support to management for strategic decision-making.
- Supervise and mentor finance team members to enhance performance and accountability.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CA Zambia, or equivalent.
- Membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
