About the Senior HR Officer Position
This full-time role is based in Lusaka, Zambia, and offers an excellent opportunity to lead key HR initiatives within a dynamic retail environment. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing employee relations, ensuring compliance with labour legislation, and supporting the overall HR function.
Key Responsibilities of Senior HR Officer Jobs in Lusaka
- Manage employee relations and disciplinary procedures in accordance with applicable labour laws.
- Represent Choppies Zambia in grievance and dispute resolution processes, fostering fair outcomes.
- Ensure full compliance with employment legislation and labour regulations across all HR activities.
- Advise management on labour-related risks and employee relations matters to mitigate potential issues.
- Develop and implement workplace conduct and employee relations policies to promote a positive work environment.
- Conduct HR audits and maintain adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs to enhance skills and performance.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and career development initiatives to attract and retain top talent.
- Prepare HR reports, maintain accurate documentation, and coordinate meetings, including disciplinary hearings.
- Handle HR correspondence and provide administrative support to the Senior HR team.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Certified Membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) is essential.
- Minimum of three years’ experience working in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong HR capabilities.

- Medical Report confirming fitness for employment.
- Police Clearance Certificate to verify good conduct.
