Background

The National Prosecution Authority (NPA) is an autonomous body established by the NPA Act No. 34 of 2010. Its mission is to “provide prosecution services to contribute to a crime free Zambia’. In its quest to improve service delivery, the Authority is hereby inviting applications from suitable candidates to fill the following positions:

Main Job Purpose

To supervise the human resources management functions in order to enhance staff morale and optimize human resources utilisation.

Specific Duties and Requirements

  • Supervises and undertakes timely and accurately interpretation of rules and regulations in order to enhance adherence;
  • Supervises and undertakes timely preparation of payroll inputs in order to facilitate payment of salaries and other allowances;
  • Supervises regularly HIV/AIDS programmes in order to enhance HIV/AIDS awareness;
  • Supervise timely development of individual and departmental work plan in order to monitor and evaluate performance;
  • Supervises timely the preparation of training plans in order to facilitate decision making;
  • Supervises effectively the human and other resources in order to attain the objectives of the unit;
  • Supervises periodically the Training Needs assessment in order to facilitate decision making; and
  • Supervises and undertakes regularly monitoring and evaluation in order to facilitate appropriate interventions.

Qualifications and Work Experience

  • Full Form V or Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration or Business Administration
  • Must have a minimum of three (03) years relevant post-qualification experience in human resource or business administration
  • Registered member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM)

Skills and Other Attributes

  • Excellent writing and oral skills
  • Able to write comprehensive reports
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Must be Computer Literate
  • Ability to lead and motivate staff ( managerial skills)
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Confidentiality
