(a) Job Purpose
To supervise and undertake the provision of ICT support for software and applications for the Commission in order to facilitate seamless user access to ICT and e-services.
(b) Principal Accountabilities
- To supervise and undertake effectively the design and development of software applications, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural guidelines;
- To supervise and undertake effectively writing high-quality, efficient, and scalable code using appropriate programming languages and frameworks ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and maintainable code practices;
- To supervise and undertake effectively the design and implementation of integration strategies for seamless data flow between applications and systems;
- To supervise and undertake effectively the creation and maintainance of technical documentation, including system architecture, design specifications, and user manuals and ensuring that documentation accurately reflects the application design and functionality;
- To supervise and undertake effectively the provision of technical insights and recommendations during project planning and execution while collaborating with stakeholders to define proiect scope. timelines, and milestones:
- To supervise and undertake effectively provision of on-site and phone-based technical support services to the headquarters and regional offices;
- To supervise and undertake other incidental tasks consistent with software application development objectives of the Commission;
- To supervise effectively the implementation of performance management systems in order to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance.
(c) Qualifications
- Full Form V/Grade 12 Certificate;
- BSc in Computer Science; Degree in Information Communication and Technology or relevant;
- Member of the Information and Communication Technology Association of Zambia; Three (3) years relevant pre-job experience.
- Applicants must be aged between 30 and 40 years old.
(d) Communication Skills:
- Ability to write technical and analytical reports;
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
(e) Other Skills/Attributes:
- Familiarity with DevOps practices,
- Continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), Automation tools, and version control systems such as Git. Extensive programming skills,
- Proficiency in system architecture,
- Data modelling, API design
- Analytical Thinking.
