Senior Statistician, Industrial Production

Job Purpose

Coordinate the compilation, analysis, quality assurance, and dissemination of industrial production statistics across manufacturing, mining, construction, energy, and related sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce and improve manufacturing, mining, construction, and energy statistical indicators.
• Enhance the Index of Industrial Production and improve industrial coverage and data quality.
• Improve business register and integrate administrative data systems.
• Ensure compliance with statistical standards and metadata requirements.
• Strengthen partnerships and support staff development initiatives.

Requirements

• Grade 12 School Certificate with five O Levels including English and Mathematics.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Economics and Finance, or related field.
• Master’s Degree in Statistics, Economics, Industrial Economics, or related field is an advantage.
• At least five years of relevant experience, including three years in supervisory roles.
• Knowledge of industrial, mining, construction, and energy statistics.
• Proficiency in statistical software such as Stata, SPSS, SAS, or R.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and data quality management skills.
