We are looking for a Service Technician – Crushing Solutions to join our team in Solwezi, Zambia

The role will be based from our offices in Solwezi, Zambia.

Purpose of the role:

As part of the Service Team, this role will provide aftermarket maintenance and quality support of Sandvik Rock Processing equipment/ components at Sandvik Rock Processing facilities and on customer sites.

Also provide hands-on technical support and service for Crushing equipment and aftermarket parts to our Crushing Solutions customers in Zambia.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Qualified Mechanical Technician, Fitter, Boilermaker or Diesel mechanic.

Have a valid passport, and willing and able to travel, without restrictions, within the Central African Territory at relatively short notice, and also as per customers’ or Sandvik’s requests/requirements.

Possess relevant driver’s license accepted in Zambia.

Experience needed

At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role in the Mining Industry.

Experience servicing mineral processing and fixed plant equipment in the mining industry (Fixed plant crushing and screening highly regarded).

Strong technical skills in Crushing and Screening Preventative Maintenance and Service Repairs, Hydraulic repair, Automation setup, maintenance and troubleshooting, fault finding, and problem solving.

Acquired knowledge in Crushing and Screening operations in both surface and underground operations.

• Customer training and efficient technical services support pertaining to all Sandvik Crushers supplied to customers within Zambia.
• Perform mechanical and process maintenance at customer mine sites in Zambia, predominantly in the Northwest Zambia & Copperbelt region. However other areas may be assigned based on customer requirements
• Identify, report, and resolve technical issues safely and efficiently.
• Carry out installation and commissioning of new Sandvik equipment
• Follow on-site leadership direction and work independently when required.
• Attend training, meetings, and be available for after-hours callouts
• Work closely with the Customers’ Installation and Erection Teams on activities during installation and commissioning of any Sandvik Crushers when required.
• Guide and assist Customers’ Maintenance Teams with fault diagnosis work on Sandvik Crushers.
• Work with Customers’ Maintenance Teams perform repair and fault finding using a hands-on approach.
• Cooperate closely with the sales team or directly with the customer to promote Crushing Solutions equipment and aftermarket sales.
• Support with parts lists and parts planning
• Provide relevant feedback through equipment condition, performance and process audits, to enable maintenance planning improvements in terms of efficiency and equipment integrity.
• Identifies current and future/potential customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with them and other persons in a position to understand service requirements. Provides product service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Works towards achieving set KPI’s, for both the Customers and Sandvik.
• Accept and perform tasks delegated by Rock Processing Management as deemed necessary
• Ensure all Sandvik policies and procedures especially the health, safety and environmental policies are adhered to by the team.
