Site Manager
LUSAKA
To oversee and manage all site activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, to the required quality standards, and in compliance with safety regulations
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Project Execution & Supervision
- Manage day-to-day operations on site
- Coordinate and supervise all site workers, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Interpret drawings, plans, and specifications to guide construction activities
- Ensure work is done according to project program and quality standards
2. Planning & Reporting
- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly work programs
- Prepare daily site reports, progress reports, and material requests
- Keep records of labor, materials, equipment usage, and site
3. Health & Safety
- Enforce all Health & Safety rules (PPE, toolbox talks, safety procedures)
- Ensure all workers have safety induction
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized construction site
- Ensure compliance with local council and ZEMA regulations
4. Quality & Cost Control
- Monitor quality of materials and workmanship
- Minimize wastage and control material usage
- Report any defects or delays immediately
5. Stakeholder Management
- Attend site meetings with Client, Consultants, and Management
- Liaise with procurement for timely delivery of materials
- Manage client relations on site
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing building construction sites
- Must have experience with housing projects, commercial buildings, or infrastructure
- Valid driver's license is an added advantage
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Strong leadership and team management
- Excellent knowledge of construction methods and building regulations
- Good planning, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret drawings
- Computer literate (MS Project / Excel)
- High integrity, firm, and results-oriented
