Background
Momentum Mining Services Limited is seeking the services of an experienced and qualified Site Manager to oversee site operations in Solwezi. This is a Senior role and the ideal candidate should be able to effectively plan, coordinate, and execute site-based projects, ensuring that all works are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with client specifications, set quality standards, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight
- Supervise and coordinate daily site operations to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Develop, manage, and control project budgets while tracking progress against approved schedules.
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with contractual obligations and client specifications.
Team and Resource Management
- Plan and coordinate workforce schedules, allocate tasks, and provide leadership to site personnel.
- Support recruitment, supervise, and manage machine operators and other site-based personnel as required.
- Oversee the procurement, allocation, and efficient utilization of materials, equipment, and machinery.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
- Implement, monitor, and enforce strict health and safety policies and procedures on site.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to ensure full compliance with statutory and company HSE requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure corrective actions are promptly implemented.
Liaison and Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the Company and the Client’s technical and operational teams.
- Facilitate clear, timely, and effective communication to ensure alignment on project objectives, changes, and performance.
Quality Control and Assurance
- Conduct regular quality inspections to ensure all works meet required standards, approved drawings, and technical specifications.
- Identify and address non-conformances promptly to maintain high-quality workmanship.
Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare accurate and timely project reports, progress updates, and site documentation.
- Review and interpret site drawings, plans, and diagrams to guide execution.
- Manage administrative tasks efficiently and continuously review procedures to achieve optimal operating efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Engineering (BEng.) Degree in any engineering discipline.
- Project Management certification will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience with a major mining contractor in an open-pit mining environment; or
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Site Manager with a major construction company.
