Job Summary
The Site Surveyor is responsible for conducting precise on-site measurements and assessments to provide the critical data needed for project planning, estimation, and successful execution. You will be the technical expert on the ground, ensuring that every project starts with accurate and detailed information, from initial measurements to identifying potential challenges. Your work directly impacts project efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and overall quality.
About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Site Surveyor to join our dynamic team on a landmark, large-scale industrial project. This is a unique opportunity to be involved from the initial ground-breaking phase, playing a critical role in the successful delivery of a state-of-the-art facility. You will be at the heart of the construction process, ensuring precision and quality from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain primary and secondary control networks across the entire site.
- Conduct topographical surveys and assist in the verification of initial site conditions.
- Perform precise setting out for all aspects of the project, including earthworks, deep foundations, reinforced concrete structures, and structural steel.
- Survey and set out for underground services, drainage systems, and external infrastructure such as roads and hard standings.
- Carry out volumetric calculations for cut and fill analysis.
- Monitor the movement and deformation of temporary and permanent structures as required.
- Produce accurate as-built surveys and maintain comprehensive survey records.
- Work closely with the project engineering and construction teams to resolve any dimensional issues on site.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Site Surveyor on large-scale, ground-up construction projects.
- Proficiency in setting out for complex earthworks, foundations, and major concrete/steel structures is essential.
- Extensive hands-on experience with modern surveying equipment, including Total Stations, GPS/GNSS Rovers, and 3D Laser Scanners.
- Strong working knowledge of surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Leica Geo Office, etc).
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from complex engineering and architectural drawings.
- A relevant qualification in Engineering, Surveying, or Geomatics is highly desirable.
- A proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
