STOCK CONTROLLER (1 POSITION)
Job Purpose
The Stock Controller will be responsible for monitoring and managing inventory levels for raw materials, carcasses, packaging, and finished meat products. The role demands high attention to detail, excellent organization, and strong understanding of stock movement within a meat processing operation. The successful candidate will work closely with the production, procurement, sales, and finance teams to ensure accurate stock records and timely reporting.Zambia job alerts
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products.
- Conduct stock counts, reconcile variances, and monitor inventory movements.
- Coordinate the receiving, storage, and dispatch of products, ensuring FIFO/FEFO compliance.
- Monitor stock levels, prepare inventory reports, and report discrepancies or potential losses.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, cold chain, and inventory control standards.
- Collaborate with Production, Sales, Logistics, and Finance to support efficient inventory management and accurate stock costing.
- Support stock planning and replenishment to meet operational and customer demand.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Certificate or diploma in Purchasing & Supply, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- A minimum of 3 years’ stock control experience, preferably in Meat processing, Food production or FMCG manufacturing
- Proven experience with stock management systems and MS Excel.
Competencies
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- High accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
- Good understanding of production processes, yields, and cold room operations.
- Ability to identify stock variances and propose corrective measures.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail.
