DS Solar is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Stores Assistant, to be based at Carousel Mall in Lusaka.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive and record all stock delivered to the store
- Issue stock to customers, sales staff, installers, and branches with proper documentation
- Maintain accurate records of stock in and stock out
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports
- Support stock replenishment planning to avoid shortages
- Coordinate stock transfers between Carousel Mall, suppliers, warehouses, and branches
- Track items transferred or couriered to branches and confirm receipt
- Ensure stock movements are supported by invoices, delivery notes, transfer notes, or approved requisitions
- Monitor fast-moving and slow-moving stock items
- Assist in stock counts and stock reconciliations
- Report stock variances, damages, missing items, or discrepancies immediately
- Maintain proper filing of store records, invoices, dispatch notes, and stock reports
- Ensure the store is clean, organised, and easy to audit
- Work closely with Accounts, Sales, Procurement, Logistics, and Branch teams
- Support stock planning for solar panels, batteries, inverters, pumps, appliances, accessories, and other company products
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma in Stores Management, Purchasing and Supply, Inventory Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Logistics, or related field
- Proven experience in stores, stock control, inventory management, or warehouse operations
- Good knowledge of stock receiving, issuing, reconciliation, and reporting procedures
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with stock management systems or inventory applications is an added advantage
- Good record-keeping and reporting skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet reporting deadlines
- High levels of honesty, discipline, and accountability
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Basic understanding of solar products, electrical items, or hardware products is an added advantage
