Structural Painters – 3 Positions

Structural Painters are responsible for applying protective coatings to metal surfaces, ensuring durability and appearance .

Surface Preparation

Prepare steel surfaces for painting through abrasive blasting, grinding, sanding, and solvent cleaning to remove existing coatings and contaminants . Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk or putty and smooth surfaces with sandpaper .

Paint Application

Apply paint, primers, epoxy primers, and intermediate coatings to metal and steel surfaces using airless spray, conventional spray, brushes, and rollers . Read work orders to determine specific work requirements .

Quality Control and Material Management

Measure and record wet film thickness (WFT) and dry film thickness (DFT) . Calculate the required amounts of materials based on surface measurements or work orders . Identify coating defects and perform corrective actions as required .
