Lumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit a highly committed individual for the position of Supervisor Mechanical -Crushers & Conveyor belts to join the versatile Process Maintenance team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator- Crushers and Conveying, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe efficient operation of maintenance artisans through the effective utilization of all resources provided.
Responsibilities or duties
Your Duties and Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
- Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of Boilermakers, Fitters, Lubricators, Contractors, and associated equipment in accordance with plant policies, safety standards, and maintenance procedures.
- Manage shift rosters, annual leave, sick leave, and other workforce scheduling requirements to ensure adequate shift coverage and operational continuity.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety meetings to reinforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Review, prioritize, and execute weekly maintenance schedules, ensuring critical and high-priority maintenance activities are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure the development, implementation, and regular updating of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all maintenance tasks within the function.
- Operate in full compliance with established maintenance procedures and directives issued by the Maintenance Coordinator.
- Evaluate maintenance performance, identify gaps, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Promote safe work practices and always ensure adherence to statutory and company safety regulations.
Qualifications or requirements
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Minimum of Advanced Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Metal Fabrication, or a related discipline.
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and experience working with SAP or a similar Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or any Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Valid Zambian Driver’s License.
- Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
Experience needed
- Minimum of three (3) years’ proven experience in crushers and conveyor structural maintenance within a mining or heavy industrial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, drive performance, and contribute positively to continuous improvement initiatives within a results-driven environment.
