Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly efficient, committed, and proactive individual for the position of Supervisor, Production to join the versatile Mining Team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the Production Coordinator, you will be responsible for delivering the load and haul objectives of the mine plan and mine budget.
Responsibilities or duties
- Develop continuous improvement strategies and communicate and apply accordingly.
- Monitor dump maintenance and floor level control, roads and floors.
- Monitor the material type that is being mined, in conjunction with geology and survey.
- Ensure all controls are in place at the dig face i.e. pegs, mark-up and TBM.
- Operate and allocate mining equipment to optimize production in accordance with the mine plan.
- Ensure breaks, hot seat change and refueling of all mobile equipment are well coordinated.
- Provide consistency between shift hand over through accurate pit set up / inform incoming shift.
- Ensure the dispatch system is utilized as an inherent part of the section and appropriate production improvements are managed continuously.
Qualifications or requirements
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Diploma in Mining Engineering.
- Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications.
- Must be the Member of engineering institute of Zambia (EIZ).
Experience needed
- Must have three year’s experience in the open pit mining industry.
- Proven ability to deliver results and act as a change agent.
