About Zambia Sugar Plc
Zambia Sugar Plc is the country’s sole manufacturer of the commodity. It is a subsidiary of Illovo Sugar Africa, which is itself a member of the Associated British Foods Plc group. The company is involved in the cultivation of sugarcane, its processing into sugar, and the distribution of sugar and related products.
Job Purpose
To manage and oversee the entire supply chain operations of the company, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of goods and services. This includes procurement, logistics, inventory management, and demand planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies to optimize operations.
- Manage procurement processes, including sourcing, negotiation, and vendor management.
- Oversee logistics and transportation to ensure efficient movement of goods.
- Manage inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing costs.
- Collaborate with other departments to forecast demand and plan production.
- Monitor supply chain performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, APICS) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience in procurement, logistics, inventory management, and demand planning.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles and best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
