Trident Preparatory Lusaka is part of the Trident Group of Schools and is located on Ngwerere Road, opposite the Bonanza Golf Estate in Lusaka, Zambia. Trident Prep Lusaka offers schooling from Early Years to Year 6.

Trident Educore Ngwerere is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for Key Stage 1. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher as well as the HOD for EYFS and KS1 at Trident Preparatory Lusaka. This is a fixed term contract position (initially 16 months).

Responsibilities or duties

  • To support the Key Stage 1 teacher in delivering high-quality learning experiences for all pupils.
  • To assist pupils in their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • To provide individual and small-group support to help children achieve their learning goals.
  • To help create a safe, caring, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • To promote positive behaviour and encourage pupils’ independence and confidence.
  • To assist with the preparation of learning resources and classroom organisation.
  • To contribute to the safeguarding, welfare, and wellbeing of all children in the class

Qualifications or requirements 

  • A genuine interest in working with young children aged 5-7 years
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to support pupils individually, in small groups and during whole-class activities
  • Demonstrate kindness, patience, and a positive attitude
  • Sound literacy and numeracy skills
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • TCZ registration

Experience needed

Proficiency in English and experience working as a Teaching Assistant in Key Stage 1 setting will be an advantage.
