TEAM LEADER – REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN – HEAD OFFICE (X1)
The Required Skills for the Role Include:
- Coordinating the planning of scheduled maintenance, service, and repairs of the refrigeration equipment across the business.
- Ensuring the reliability of refrigeration equipment for the equipment to operate at peak capacity with the least number of breakdowns and downtime.
- Ensuring the Health and Safety of Employees by complying with Regulatory and Internationally Accepted Safety Standards.
- Ensuring compliance with Government Legislation.
- Ensuring that all refrigeration technicians are trained, supported by detailed SOPS, and appraised against set KPI’s
- Supervising and coordinating daily activities of employees in utilities and refrigeration, including establishing work schedules that support production activities that provide for timely repair and maintenance of facility buildings, equipment, to support operational requirements
- Managing requirements for spares and consumables needed for maintenance, and a small inventory of common consumables
- Overseeing the installation of new equipment as well as the replacement and repair of spare parts according to supplier and company specifications and established safety guidelines.
- Monitoring the performance of repairs and maintenance conducted, as well as systems in the refrigeration plant division, Freezer Rooms & Display Freezers.
- Overseeing all maintenance utilities.
- Performing inspections and preventative maintenance as required, and setting standards.
- Actively managing the maintenance teams responsible for refrigeration systems, leading the maintenance team to become world-class in technical expertise, installations, repairs, and maintenance of refrigeration equipment.
The Required Qualifications are:
- Full Grade 12 Certificate
- A Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Refrigeration or both
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Refrigeration Maintenance Management.
- Proven experience in the maintenance management of large-scale refrigeration plants (freon and ammonia)
- Member of EIZ
The Skills and Competencies Required for this Role Include:
- Able to formulate and oversee the development of KPIs and scorecards
- Able to identify and implement the cost reduction opportunities
- Able to drive and monitor compliance with safety requirements
- Able to track performance in ensuring the right spares at the right levels
- Able to lead and train the team by demonstrating knowledge of refrigeration equipment, good mechanical skills, excellent troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance.
