The Temporary Finance Officer will provide critical financial and operational support to the Senior Finance and Awards Manager on the REACH Malaria project. This position involves managing program advances, vendor invoices, cash disbursements, and financial documentation to ensure compliance with PATH policies and donor requirements. The contract extends through December 31, 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process program advances and ensure timely clearance of outstanding advances.
  • Review and process vendor invoices promptly within the financial system (Business World).
  • Administer funds and maintain accurate documentation for field activities, including cash disbursements for meetings and workshops.
  • Manage receivable and payable accounts, including prepayments and fuel reconciliations.
  • Support provincial teams with procurement documentation and ensure accuracy before processing.
  • Ensure all financial transactions have appropriate approvals and comply with organizational policies.
  • Assist with project closeout activities and maintain updated inventory records.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent qualifications such as ACCA II, CIMA II, or ZICA II.
  • Current registered member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
  • At least three years of finance experience working with international NGOs.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Legal authorization to work in Zambia is required.
