ABOUT ASILI
ASILI is a newly established vocational training institution and workforce pathway in Zambia to provide practical, industry-aligned vocational training that connects young people to skills development through to employment, entrepreneurship and economic opportunity. Departments: Agribusiness, Water & Climate-Smart Technologies; and Mining, Industrial Logistics & Transport.
THE OPPORTUNITY
ASILI is seeking an experienced, practical professional to support the TEVET readiness required for our March 2027 launch. This is a hands-on establishment role for someone who understands how vocational education and training operates and can translate regulatory and TEVET requirements into concrete launch actions.
WHAT YOU WILL HELP US DELIVER
- Review Phase 1 programmes for alignment with applicable TEVETA curricula, standards, qualification levels and regulatory requirements.
- Support institutional/ programmes registration, accreditation, inspection and compliance preparation.
- Identify required curricula, teaching materials, trainer qualifications, tools, equipment, classrooms, workshops and practical-training resources.
- Develop and track TEVET Readiness Checklist and implementation schedule through launch.
- Follow up on all regulatory aspects of running a TEVET institution.
- Support training calendars, timetables, course schedules, assessments, examinations, certification and student-record systems.
- Advise on recruitment/readiness of qualified trainers and verification of relevant TEVETA requirements.
- Support course files, schemes of work, lesson planning, assessment tools and academic quality-assurance processes.
- Identify training, regulatory or operational gaps early and recommend practical corrective actions.
- Help align program delivery with industry expectations, workplace learning and employment pathways.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Current, practical knowledge of TEVETA registration, accreditation, curricula, trainer requirements, inspections and quality assurance.
- 5 years of experience in a technical, vocational, trades or skills-training institution in Zambia, including TEVETA-accredited programmes.
- Strong understanding of TEVET planning, timetabling, assessment, program documentation and practical-training environments.
- 5 years of experience working at TEVETA in curriculum or regulatory compliance department, Principal, Vice Principal, Head of Department, Academic Coordinator, Training Manager, Senior Lecturer/Instructor or similar role is an advantage.
- Organized, solutions-oriented and able to work independently while collaborating closely with ASILI leadership.
Note: The candidate does not need to be a technical specialist in every Phase 1 discipline. The priority is strong institutional and academic experience and the ability to coordinate readiness across multiple technical programmes.
