TRANSPORT MANAGER

Chaminuka Nature Reserve and Lodge, a premier eco-tourism destination, is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as Transport Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual to contribute to the efficient operation of our transport fleet in a beautiful natural setting.

Position Overview

The Transport Manager will be responsible for overseeing all transportation operations at Chaminuka Nature Reserve and Lodge, including the management and maintenance of our safari vehicle fleet, ensuring optimal performance, safety standards, and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all transport operations for the reserve and lodge
• Oversee the maintenance, servicing, and repair of safari vehicles and other transport assets
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and operational standards
• Develop and implement vehicle maintenance schedules and tracking systems
• Manage transport staff, including drivers and mechanics
• Monitor fuel consumption and implement cost-effective measures
• Coordinate guest transfers and safari excursions
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, maintenance, and expenses
• Ensure vehicles meet tourism and wildlife regulations

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Diploma or equivalent qualification in Transport and Logistics or related field
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in transport management, with specific experience in safari vehicle management
• Management Experience: At least 2 years in a supervisory or management position
• Competencies: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills
• Availability: Must be ready to commence employment immediately upon selection

Desirable Qualifications

• Valid driver's license (defensive driving certification an advantage)
• Knowledge of vehicle mechanics and diagnostics
• Experience in the hospitality or tourism industry
• Familiarity with eco-tourism operations
