As part of our continued expansion, PG Meats seeks to recruit for the following position:
Truck Sales Agent (1)
ROLE OVERVIEW
The sales Agent will play a key role in daily operations for sales and marketing, including reporting, cost tracking, and customer care. This position requires strong marketing skills and the ability to support retail management.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Business Development: Identify and secure new customers, including retailers, restaurants, wholesalers and new potential business routes
- Product Distribution: sell meat products from a refrigerated truck while ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
- Customer Relationship Management: Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients through routine truck sales. Promptly issue resolution to customer complaint(s) and engage appropriate individual staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Target Achievement: Meet or exceed daily, weekly and monthly sales set by management.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure the sales vehicle is in good condition, working hand in hand with the logistics Manager.
- Financial Handling: Ensure money is well secured during sells and enroute to the factory. Provide daily/weekly trading reports and ensure sales are recorded on the POS system daily/weekly.
- Product Handling: Load and unload meat products carefully, ensure cold chain is maintained and hygiene standards are met.
Required Qualifications
- Education: A Grade 12 Certificate is standard; a Diploma in Marketing or Business Administration is preferred.
- Experience: At least 2 years of professional driving experience and proven experience in FMCG or meat industry sales.
Essential Skills:
- Product Knowledge: Familiarity with meat cuts, quality standards, and industry pricing.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills to interact with diverse clients and internal dispatch teams and responsible Manager(s).
- Physical Fitness: Ability to manoeuvrer and lift heavy loads in and out of the truck.
- Local Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the Zambian demography and sales potential.
