An established Equipment Hire and Hauling company in Zambia invites qualified and experienced technical professionals to join its dedicated team. Focused on maximising fleet efficiency, maintaining reliable equipment, and minimising downtime, this organisation offers multiple full-time positions across various engineering and maintenance disciplines.
Role Objective
Inspect, fit, repair, and maintain tyres on light vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment to ensure safety, proper fitment, and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Remove, fit, inflate, balance, and align tyres on various vehicles and equipment.
- Repair punctures and replace valves.
- Handle tube-type, tubeless, and off-the-road (OTR) tyres.
- Inspect tyres for wear, damage, pressure, and tread depth, recommending replacements as needed.
- Maintain correct tyre pressures and report abnormal wear patterns.
- Respond to tyre breakdowns and emergency call-outs on-site or in the field.
- Operate tyre fitting machines, bead breakers, compressors, jacks, and torque tools.
- Coordinate with mechanics, operators, and supervisors to schedule maintenance.
- Keep accurate records of inspections, repairs, replacements, and tyre usage.
- Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Maintain tools, service vehicles, and clean, organised work areas.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate or trade training in Tyre Fitting.
- Grade 12 School Certificate.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in automotive, heavy equipment fleet, or mining environments.
