Evelyn Hone College of Applied Arts and Commerce is the largest Technical Education and Vocational Training (TEVET) Institution under the Ministry of Technology and Science. The institution seeks to employ strong and dynamic persons for the positions of Vice Principal, and Finance Manager.

1.0 VICE PRINCIPAL (EHC 2)

Job Purpose

The Vice Principal is the head of all academic activity within College and is also responsible for strategic leadership, administrative management of the Institution in attaining its role in the country’s economic, social and cultural growth and development through teaching, research, public service and innovation.

The Vice Principal shall assist the Principal lead the development of the College’s educational strategic goals, frameworks and policies.

Main Duties:

a) Academic Administration: Provides oversight in the planning and management of all academic administration and oversees the effective and consistent delivery of programs and curriculum. Provides general development and direction of curriculum in all academic programs.

b) Strategic Planning: Assists in the directing the development, implementation and review of the EHC’s Corporate Strategic Plan (CSP).

c) Communications and Working Relationship: Assists the Principal to ensure integrity of the academic records, and all forms of certification of academic achievement.

d) Resource Mobilization/Partnerships: Provides leadership in resource mobilization and management. Develops and maintains partnerships with other Institutions, government and non-governmental organizations as well as bilateral and multilateral donor communities.

e) Corporate Governance: Ensures observance of good corporate Governance practices. Promotes sound corporate governance and ethical standards across academic faculties and effectively leads by demonstrating exemplary leadership behavior, through personal involvement, commitment and dedication in support of organizational values;

f) Performance Management Systems: Oversees the development of individual work plans and implementation of the performance management system in order to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance.

g) Student Welfare: Oversees the welfare of students and student activities to promote a conducive academic atmosphere within the College.

h) Innovation and Research: Promotes and Coordinates research and innovation activities of the College.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

a) Minimum Vocational / Professional Qualifications:

  • A Masters Degree in a relevant Technical field and/or Education Management field.
  • A PhD in Technical or Education Management will be an added advantage.

b) Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience:

5 Years at Senior Management Level

c)Must have relevant teaching experience of at least four (4) years, preferably in the TEVET Sector.

d)Must be a fully paid up member of a relevant professional body.
