Our farms and production facilities are strategically located just outside Luanshya on the Copperbelt. Committed to peak performance and operational excellence, we are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to join our dynamic team.
We are inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the following position:
WAREHOUSE MANAGER
Luanshya, Copperbelt Province, Zambia | Reports to: General Manager Production
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Warehouse Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate the entire egg handling process at our Luanshya facility. This includes managing the daily collection of eggs, overseeing the grading and packing operations in the egg room, and ensuring efficient stock control through to the distribution centre. The role carries full responsibility for Warehouse operations, people management, budget control, and regulatory compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations Management
- Oversee and manage the daily collection, grading, and packing of eggs to ensure consistent quality and throughput
- Ensure all Warehouse equipment is fully operational and coordinate with the maintenance team for scheduled servicing and breakdown resolution
- Implement and enforce FIFO (First In, First Out) stock control systems throughout the Warehouse and into the distribution centre
- Monitor production output, quality standards, and operational KPIs, reporting performance to management on a regular basis
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and lower operational costs
Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, manage, and develop all Warehouse staff, including supervisors and general employees
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of Warehouse personnel to maintain a skilled and motivated team
- Conduct quarterly performance appraisals and manage ongoing performance in line with company standards
- Handle all disciplinary matters in accordance with company policy and Zambian labour law
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement across all Warehouse shifts
Administration, Compliance & Reporting
- Manage the departmental budget, including supplier relations and procurement of all packaging materials
- Ensure strict adherence to all bio-security protocols across the Warehouse and egg room at all times
- Ensure full compliance with company security, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance), and health and safety policies
- Prepare and submit accurate operational reports to management — daily, weekly, and monthly as required
- Maintain thorough records of production, stock, staff attendance, and any incidents or non-conformances
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior supervisory or management role within production, distribution operations, or Warehouse management
- Proven experience managing teams, including conducting performance reviews and handling disciplinary processes
- Strong working knowledge of stock control systems, including FIFO methodology
- Solid understanding of departmental budgeting and supplier/procurement management
- Experience in the egg, poultry, or fresh produce industry will be a significant advantage
- Familiarity with bio-security, food safety, and ESG compliance requirements
- A relevant qualification in Operations Management, Agriculture, Food Science, or a related field will be advantageous
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
- Excellent leadership and people management skills — able to motivate and hold a diverse team accountable
- Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail with a commitment to quality and operational standards
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literate — proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting and record-keeping
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and respond to operational demands
- A hands-on, proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership
- Sober character with the highest standards of personal integrity
