About the Role

Umoyo is seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Warehouse Manager to lead and optimize our warehouse operations within a fast-paced manufacturing and food-processing environment.

This role is critical in ensuring efficient inventory management, uninterrupted production support, food safety compliance, and cost-effective logistics operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening our supply chain and driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch
  • Ensure continuous availability of materials to support production and prevent downtime
  • Manage inventory accuracy using WMS/ERP systems and enforce FIFO/FEFO principles
  • Lead stock control processes including cycle counts, audits, and variance resolution
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and SHERQ standards
  • Supervise, train, and manage warehouse staff to achieve performance targets
  • Maintain a safe working environment and enforce safety procedures
  • Monitor KPIs and prepare operational and inventory reports
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and cost optimization
  • Coordinate closely with Production, Procurement, Quality Assurance, and Logistics teams

Minimum Requirements

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in warehouse operations, preferably in manufacturing or food processing
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems
  • Membership with the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply

  • Excellent planning, organization, and multitasking abilities
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience in food and beverage manufacturing
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and systems
  • Professional certifications such as CSCP, CPIM, or CIPS
