Background

Our client, in the Energy and Petroleum Industry, a downstream oil and gas company operating retail service stations, fuel depots, and bulk supply chains across the country wishes to hire the following positions.

Job Purpose

To perform skilled welding and fabrication works for structural steel, canopies, tanks, railings, and other metal components on petrol-station construction sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Cut, shape, fit, and weld mild steel, stainless steel, and other metals using MIG, TIG, and arc welding techniques.
  • Fabricate and install structural components, canopy supports, handrails, gates, and tank supports.
  • Conduct quality checks on welds and report defects or non-conformances.
  • Operate grinders, drills, plasma cutters, and other fabrication tools safely.
  • Maintain welding equipment and consumables inventory.

Qualifications & Certifications

  • Trade test or certificate in Welding/Fabrication.
  • Welding certification (e.g., AWS or equivalent) is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 4–6 years’ welding and fabrication experience in construction or industrial projects.
  • Experience with structural steelwork, canopies, or petrol-station fabrication is preferred.

Competencies

  • High precision and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of welding safety and PPE requirements.
  • Ability to work from drawings and meet tight deadlines.

Working Conditions

  • Site and workshop-based.
  • Exposure to heat, sparks, and fumes; PPE mandatory.
