The company is running a good fleet of trucks engaged in both dry and wet (fuel) cargo.

Therefore, the Company invites applications from highly motivated, result-oriented, suitably qualified and experienced professionals to fill the following vacancy:

Position: Workshop Manager

Report: Fleet: General Manager

Location: Lusaka

Key Responsibilities

Workshop Management:

  • Supervise and manage all activities within the maintenance/workshop department.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the workshop, including repair and maintenance of the fleet.
  • Recruit, train, and lead a team of technicians and mechanics.
  • Provide guidance and support to ensure efficient and high-quality work.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures.
  • Ensure timely repairs and servicing of all vehicles to minimize downtime.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies, ensuring availability for maintenance and repairs.
  • Establish procurement processes for necessary workshop supplies.
  • Ensure the workshop and maintenance operations adhere to all safety regulations and HSSEQ standards.
  • Conduct safety training and enforce safety protocols for all workshop personnel.
  • Implement quality control measures to maintain high repair and maintenance standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure the quality of work.
  • Monitor and control departmental expenses to optimize cost-effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining quality.
  • Maintain workshop equipment and tools in good working order.
  • Evaluate the need for upgrades or replacements as necessary.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs for each vehicle.
  • Provide regular reports on the condition of the fleet and workshop operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Diploma in Mechanics (degree will be added advantage)
  • 5 years’ experience in Supervisory role
  • Computer literacy is necessary, our workshop management system is Computer based.
  • Experience in Volvo and Chinese Trucks will be added advantage
  • Proven experience in maintenance and workshop management, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Able to use diagnostic tools and software’s
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair processes, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Good reporting skills
  • Knowledge of HSSEQ standards and their application in workshop operations.

Work Hours: 8

Work experience six years in Supervisory role.
