JOB DETAILS:
REPORTING STRUCTURE Reporting: Operations Manager
Location: Kalumbila, Northwestern Province
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment
Direct and plan the daily activities of the workshop, including scheduling work, assigning tasks, and ensuring timely completion of projects.
Lead and manage workshop staff, assistant mechanics, and auto electrician
Oversee inventory, spare parts procurement
Implement and enforce quality control measures, conduct regular inspections, and address any quality issues promptly.
Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, conduct audits, and enforce HSE protocols
Implement security and control systems to safeguard all equipment and tools
REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12 School Certificate
Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on workshop experience, with at least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
Hands-on experience with lifting equipment (cranes, forklifts and telehandlers)
Strong Knowledge of tools, equipment and repair techniques. Proven leadership in planning, safety, and operational efficiency
Registered member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia
Valid Zambian driving license, class c will be an added advantage.
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to supervise and train staff
Problem-solving abilities
Valid Silicosis Certificate
Suitably qualified applicants must provide certificates which have been verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZQA)
