Background
The Zambia National Forest Commodities Association is a not-for-profit, membership-based organization dedicated to supporting farm forestry and environmental conservation across Zambia. Established in 2017, originally as a department under the Zambia National Farmers’ Union (ZNFU), it later registered as an independent association with support from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
ZNFCA works to promote the ecological and sustainable management of forests and forest-based commodities. Its core objectives include reducing deforestation, advancing socially responsible and economically viable forestry practices, and improving the livelihoods of its members through information sharing, education, advocacy, capacity building, and market linkage.
As the apex body for forest and farm producer organizations involved in Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs), ZNFCA operates across multiple districts, with a growing membership of over 5,000 members nationwide.
