TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR THE SUPPLY AND DELIVERY OF MATERIALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF 20 POUR FLUSH TOILETS IN KATONDO, KABWE DISTRICT.

INTRODUCTION

Habitat for Humanity Zambia is a locally registered Non-Governmental Organization founded in 1984 and currently operates in three provinces namely; Lusaka, Central and on the Copperbelt. The organization has been responding  mainly to shelter needs and related issues such as water and sanitation to serve the most vulnerable families living in marginalized peri-urban communities within the three provinces.

HFH Zambia through its BMZ Community-Driven Models for WASH improvement Project, is funding  the construction of 20 pour flush toilets in Katondo, Kabwe District.

DELIVERY APPROACH

Habitat for Humanity Zambia  promotes a community driven approach involving the local authority (Council), Lukanga Water and Sanitation Company Limited and community members and its leadership from the onset during  the planning , implementation,monitoring  and completion  of installation works. This ensures development of local capacities in quality delivery of the product to the satisfaction of end users and the funding agencies in accordance to the scope of works (see annex 1 below).

Habitat for Humanity Zambia is now inviting bids from its registered vendors for the SUPPLY AND DELIVERY OF MATERIALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF 20 POUR FLUSH TOILETS IN KATONDO, KABWE DISTRICT.

This  includes; supplying and delivery of Construction of materials to 20 sites in Katondo, Kabwe Note! That the 20 sites are spread in various parts of Katondo i.e within a radius of 5-10km.The supplying and delivery of construction of materials as described and specified in the scope of works stated below as an annex.

LOCATION
Katondo – Kabwe district.
ELIGIBLE BIDDERS
Habitat for Humanity Zambia invites invites bids from  interested Vendors.

The Bidder is required to poses the following;

General Eligibility and Compliance

-Valid ZPPA Certificate

-Pacra Registration

-Valid Workers’ Compensation

-Company Profile with physical address

-Valid Tax Clearance certificate

-Provision of brief method statement

-Provision of 3 Months latest bank statements(Stamped)

-Personnel,Experience and Equipment

-Site Foreman with at least 3 years’ Construction background experience

-Proof of carried out past experience in similar works (Certifications of completion,award letters,Purchase orders etc).

-Truck for delivery of materials (hired & owned)Proof of ownership or signed lease agreement

The Bidder is encouraged to visit the area and examine the site and its surroundings and obtain for itself, own risk and responsibility, all information that may be necessary for preparing the bid.The costs of visiting the site shall be at the Bidder’s own expense.

DEADLINE FOR BIDS SUBMISSION
All BIDs must be deposited in a Tender Box at Habitat for Humanity Zambia National Office on Plot 488a Twin Palms Road Kabulonga, Lusaka. Submissions must include a non-returnable USB flash drive containing soft copies of all documents submitted. no later than Wednesday, 3rd September 2025 by 10:00 AM clearly marked “Supply and Delivery of Materials For The Construction of 20 Pour Flush Toilets In Katondo, Kabwe District.”, and addressed to the Chairperson, Procurement Committee. The Bids will be opened on Wednesday, 3rd September 2025 at 10:30 AM at Habitat for Humanity Zambia National Office..

SIGNING OF CONTRACT
Promptly upon notification, the Employer shall send the successful Bidder the contract agreement for review and signing.

PROJECT DURATION
The employer expects the materials to be delivered within 30 calendar days of the date of signing the contract.

Note! employer may request the supplier to supply certain materials in batches and intervals within and after the stated duration of the project.
