DRIVER TRAINER– (CHISAMBA) (X1)

The Required Skills for this Role Include:

  • Ensuring drivers understand and follow state and local traffic regulations, as well as company safety protocols.
  • Working closely with the fleet management team to identify training needs and implement tailored training programs.
  • Reporting all accidents and incidents to the logistics and workshop manager.
  • Teach safe driving practices, defensive driving techniques, and company-specific policies and procedures.
  • Working with the Transport manager in the selection and hiring of new drivers.
  • Conducting weekly toolbox meetings with the drivers.
  • Maintaining accurate records of training sessions, certifications, and evaluations for each driver.
  • Staying updated on new driving technologies, safety regulations, and best practices.
  • Designing and implementing safety meetings under the direction of the Environmental Safety Manager and Transport Manager.
  • Driving routes/field trips as needed.
  • Performing all other duties assigned by the Transport Manager
  • Offering ongoing coaching and guidance to drivers to help them improve skills and meet company objectives
  • Providing training on accident prevention, proper vehicle maintenance, and emergency response.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate
  • Valid driving instructor's license or certification.
  • Proven experience as a driving instructor.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Class C/CE PSV License Endorsements
  • Suitably qualified applicants must provide certificates verified by Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).

The Required skills, Knowledge, and Competencies for the role include:

  • Analyzing the performance of drivers per individual
  • Proper and accurate records, Ability to keep.
  • Able to create suitable training programs.
  • Ability to interact with staff and others in an open, friendly, business-like manner.
  • Ability to follow regulations pertaining to the safe operation of vehicles and equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
