Background

Stefanutti Stocks Construction (Zambia) Limited, a division of a South African premier multi-disciplinary contractor is seeking to recruit competent individuals in the position of Safety Officer.

Place of Employment: Lumwana - Zambia

Responsibilities

Assists in planning, directing and implementing organisational safety, health, environmental and quality programmes. Assists in plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health rules and regulations. Plans and implements programmes to train employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment and other materials. Prepares studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.

Qualifications

Must be a Zambian Citizen

Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety and other relevant safety training

5years’ experience in construction or Mining.

Strong knowledge of construction safety laws and standards

Excellent communication and leadership skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Knowledge of construction laws safety regulations and quality standards

Familiar with ISO 45001

Must have be a paid-up member of Occupational Health and Safety Institute (OHSI).
