As part of the expansion strategy we are looking for interested, qualified and competent candidates to fill the following position:
Job Title: Manager Communication &Public Relations
Reports to: Sr. Manager Promotion and Communication
Job purpose
Create a positive company image for customers and business partners by promoting the airline’s brand, products and services through the development and implementation of various communications strategies. Serve as a company’s media liaison and formal spokesperson. .

Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage the airline’s brand and reputation and ensure the public views the airline favorably for increased customer retention and loyalty;
• Develop and ensure the implementation of the airline corporate communication strategy;
• Develop and implement strategic PR programs to increase brand awareness;
• Use CRM data to enable communication personalization across channels;
• Develop and maintain positive media and public relations portraying RwandAir as a responsible corporate citizen;
• Work collaboratively with sales department to identify and develop productivity and communications initiatives across all markets;
• Review and approve all corporate communications;
• Supervise the airline’s social media accounts and ensure creative content are developed with the aim of increased audience and better engagement;
• Supervise the development and dissemination of internal and external publications such as newsletters, press releases, public announcements, inflight magazine etc.;
• Monitor digital and online content;
• Manage editorial calendars , event-based publications, and other publications available;
• Supervise the planning, organizing and delivery of all external and internal events, sponsored functions, exhibitions, fairs, conferences, product launches and social events;
• Manage tactical activities related to events of the airline, event calendar, staff activities, and inter-organizational activities;
• Recommend to the Senior Manager Promotions & Communications opportunities for events and produce event proposals for review;
• Manage sponsorships and ensure a fair Return of investment for each sponsored activity;
• Ensure daily/weekly/monthly/periodic reports are compiled according to reporting standards of the department;
• Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification, Knowledge, skills and abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Business Administration or related fields;
• At least 3 years of experience handling marketing communications projects in a fast-paced environment;
• At least 2 years of experience managing marketing communications teams;
• Experience in developing effective communications strategies for corporate organizations;
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills;
• An excellent command of English, French and Kinyarwanda languages (written and verbal) is required;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
• People management skills: ability to develop and motivate teams to perform to their best;
• Public relations and public speaking skills;
• Ability to respond quickly to change;
• Good time management and organizational skills;
• A multi-tasker with the ability to handle various tasks in a fast-paced environment;
• Proven ability to work independently and think strategically;
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
